Wear Red This Sunday!

This Sunday is Pentecost - a day we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the Church. One simple way to mark the occasion is by wearing red, a symbol of the Spirit's power and presence. Join us in adding a splash of red to the sanctuary!

All-Church Night of Worship

Let's come just as we are and bring all that we have for an extended time of Worship. All ages are invited to join together in the Sanctuary for an hour of Worship and Prayer together from 6-7pm on Sunday, June 8th.

New Sermon Series: Ordinary

Join us this summer for a new sermon series called Ordinary, where we'll explore the lives of everyday people in the Bible - flawed, faithful, hesitant, and hopeful - whom God used in extraordinary ways. Through their stories, we'll be reminded that God still works through ordinary people like us to carry out His extraordinary purposes.

Celebration Sunday - June 15th - All-Church Picnic

On Celebration Sunday, June 15th, join us as we celebrate our Graduating Seniors, Promoting 5th Graders, and 3rd Grade Bibles! We will enjoy a T.K. Burger truck lunch at 12noon, water slide, a dad dump tank, and much more!

Vacation Bible School

Join us for an epic week of fun, faith, and adventure at Vacation Bible School! From July 21–25, 9:00 AM to Noon, PreK–5th grade students will dive into the Bible, meet some amazing Bible Buddies, and enjoy a wonderful time together. We can't wait to see you there!

Vacation Music Camp is Back!

We will be holding our music camp July 21st-25th, 12-2pm with lunch immediately following VBS (12-12:30pm). We will be offering the ORFF bell program (Bitty Bells) for Pre-K and Kindergarten children and choir for children in grades 1-5 (6th graders are welcome as well). Cost will be $15 for the week, including lunch. Volunteers are needed for both groups. Sign ups for both campers and volunteers are on the church website. All campers will play/sing on Sunday July 27th. Contact Beth Piburn (562/505.8444) if you have any questions or requests.

La Casa Church Plant

Last Sunday, Pastor DJ introduced us to La Casa, a church plant in Glendora with a heart for community and the hope of the gospel. If you're curious to learn more about their mission -- or feel called to support this growing ministry -- click the link: https://www.glenkirkchurch.org/lacasa/

Welcome to Deacon's Corner: Prayer Deacon

Interesting fact about our prayer ministry, did you know that prayer requests can be submitted in a number of ways? Either by submitting a request on the Sunday bulletin tear off, by clicking on the Prayer Request link within the weekly email sent out on Fridays, or by email via prayer@gspc.org. Did you know that once you submit your request, a prayer team will be assigned to it and the team will pray for your request daily for 30 days? Your request will be treated with confidentiality as we lift it up to our Lord. Did you know we always welcome volunteers to be a part of this faithful ministry? Participation as a prayer partner requires a very small investment of your time but its impact is HUGE for the recipient. If you are interested in joining, please contact Heidi Butcher at Heidinp58@gmail.com.

Cancer Support Group

Our next Cancer Support Group at Good Shepherd will be online on Monday, June 9th at 7pm, via Zoom. Please note this is a change in the usual date of our meetings. Due to a change in our schedules, we will now be meeting on the second Monday of each month. All cancer patients and their caregivers, past and present, are encouraged to join our group for support and prayer. A Zoom link will be sent out before the meeting. Please contact Shawna Escovedo 562/400.7582 or Heidi Butcher 714/319.5040 with questions.

Gospel Sing-Along

Join us on Friday, June 20th from 6:30-8pm in the Fireside Room to sing or just to listen to Country Gospel. Acoustic instruments welcomed. Music provided.

Literary Women

Literary Women meet on Saturday, June 14th at 9:30am in the Fireside Room. "Force of Nature" a memoir by Joan Griffin, is the discussion book. Come along for the trek as we reflect on the trio of women who hiked the John Muir trail, all 200 miles! Guests welcome.

A Big Thank You!

Local Missions would like to say a big "thank you" to the twenty-five people who volunteered for the Post Office Canned Goods Drive! Together Food Finders collected 56,400 pounds of canned goods that day from the four post offices which is making a dent in the hunger situation!

Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed on Friday, June 27th for "Million Meals Community Day" on the Queen Mary. We need table leaders. Kroeger and U.S. Hunger are partnering with Food Finders with a goal of providing one million boxed lunches! Call Arlene Mercer or Leny Ambruso if you are interested or stop by the Local Missions Table on the Plaza and we'll give you the link to sign up.
The following day on Saturday, June 28th the usual quarterly distribution of food will take place at Admiral Kidd Park from 8-11am. You can sign up at the Local Missions Table on Sundays.
