Good Shepherd - Week of June 22nd

Sunday Worship

Join us this Sunday as we continue our series "Ordinary" where we'll explore the lives of everyday people in the Bible - flawed, faithful, hesitant, and hopeful - whom God used in extraordinary ways - at the 9am and 10:45am worship gatherings in person, or the livestream option directly from our website at (gspc.org).

Join us for an epic week of fun, faith, and adventure at Vacation Bible School! From July 21–25, 9:00 AM to Noon, PreK–5th grade students will dive into the Bible, meet some amazing Bible Buddies, and enjoy a wonderful time together. We can't wait to see you there!

Vacation Music Camp is Back!

We will be holding our music camp July 21st-25th, 12-2pm with lunch immediately following VBS (12-12:30pm). We will be offering the ORFF bell program (Bitty Bells) for Pre-K and Kindergarten children and choir for children in grades 1-5 (6th graders are welcome as well). Cost will be $20 for the week, including lunch. Volunteers are needed for both groups. Sign ups for both campers and volunteers are on the church website. All campers will play/sing on Sunday July 27th. Contact Beth Piburn (562/505.8444) if you have any questions or requests.

Red Cross Blood Drive, July 1st, Zirbel Hall, 9am-7pm

Due to blood supply shortages the hours of the drive have been extended to accommodate more donors. Hosting monthly Red Cross Blood Drives began in July 2020 as a response to COVID needs in our community. To date, Good Shepherd has hosted 54 drives, totaling 1,049 units collected. With each unit potentially saving three lives, we have impacted over 3,000 people; 94 donations came from first time donors. We collected 24 units on April 1st. Now is the time to be a donor, just roll up your sleeve and save lives and you get a pair of cool sunglasses! In order to fill our schedule, we need your help to spread the word to your neighbors, family, and friends. All are welcome to join us in this life saving effort. To schedule an appointment, go to: RedCrossBlood.org, or call 1/800/733.2767. Invite a friend to schedule an appointment too! Donating blood is always more fun with a friend.

La Casa Church Plant

A couple of weeks ago, Pastor DJ introduced us to La Casa, a church plant in Glendora with a heart for community and the hope of the gospel. If you're curious to learn more about their mission -- or feel called to support this growing ministry -- click the link: https://www.glenkirkchurch.org/lacasa/

Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed on Friday, June 27th for "Million Meals Community Day" on the Queen Mary. We need table leaders. Kroeger and U.S. Hunger are partnering with Food Finders with a goal of providing one million boxed lunches! Call Arlene Mercer or Leny Ambruso if you are interested or stop by the Local Missions Table on the Plaza and we'll give you the link to sign up.
The following day on Saturday, June 28th the usual quarterly distribution of food will take place at Admiral Kidd Park from 8-11am. You can sign up at the Local Missions Table on Sundays.

Local Missions

If you are downsizing, had an estate sale, or are moving you can donate items such as clean useable blankets or canned foods to Local Missions at their table on the Plaza.
