Good Shepherd - Week of August 10th

Sunday Worship

Join us this Sunday as we continue our series "Ordinary" where we'll explore the lives of everyday people in the Bible - flawed, faithful, hesitant, and hopeful - whom God used in extraordinary ways - at the 9am and 10:45am worship gatherings in person, or the livestream option directly from our website at (gspc.org).

Restroom Renovations

The restrooms by the Pastors’ offices and Patio Room will be closed the next three Sundays for renovations. The plan is for them to be reopened on Sunday, August 24th. Please look for additional signage on campus to direct you to two additional restroom locations other than the ones located in the sanctuary lobby.

Home Communion Training

What a special opportunity to visit those who are homebound, pray with them, and extend the table of the Lord's supper into a living room or nursing care environment.

Pastor Bryan would love to equip and encourage you into active service for this ministry. Our dear homebound members REALLY appreciate sharing in this time of the Lord's Supper each month. The reality is that we are not able to "get to" everyone each month.

Please be in prayer about this vital ministry and if you would be willing to be on the Home Communion Team. Training time is scheduled for Wednesday, August 20th @ 6:30-8pm in the Fireside Room. Contact Pastor Bryan at bryan@gspc.org with questions and to reserve your place.

Parents Night Out

Once a month, parents are invited to drop off their kids at the church at 5pm and return by 8pm. Kids will be given dinner and be taken care of while parents enjoy a night off. Just $20 a family! The next Parents Night Out is Friday, August 22nd. Sign up here at gdshp.ch/pno.

Angels Game

All ages are invited to join us on Sunday, August 24th for an Angels Game beginning at 1:07pm! Grab your tickets here!

Cancer Support Group

Our next Cancer Support Group at Good Shepherd will be online on MONDAY August 11th at 7pm, via Zoom. Please note this is a change in the usual date of our meetings. We will now be meeting on the second Monday of each month. All cancer patients and their caregivers, past and present, are encouraged to join our group for support and prayer. A Zoom link will be sent out before the meeting. Please contact Heidi Butcher at 714/319.5040 with questions, or if you are new to the group so that we may add you to our email group distribution list.

Gracefully Fit / Fit & Faithful

Gracefully Fit. We are excited to add a new class to our morning gym schedule led by Cassie Torres. Beginning Monday, August 4th, classes will meet twice a week (Monday & Wednesday) and are $3 per class from 8:30-9:30am. This is a full-body training class that combines dynamic strength-building exercises, and cardio. Bring your mat (must be able to get on the floor).
Fit & Faithful. We are continuing this class from 9:30-10:30am (Monday and Wednesday), $3 per class. This is a low-impact chair and standing exercise to improve balance, stability, strength, flexibility, and heart health.

Quilters

Quilters meet on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month at 10am in the Round Room #4. Please note they are not meeting on August 11th. Their next meeting is on August 25th.

Gospel Sing-Along

Join us on Friday, August 15th from 6:30-8:30pm in the Fireside Room to sing or just to listen to Country Gospel. Acoustic instruments welcomed. Music provided.

Red Cross Blood Drive, Tuesday, September 2nd,
9am-7pm in Zirbel Hall

Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and friends have provided timeless lessons about taking care of each other. To celebrate their example, everyone who donates blood on September 2nd will receive an exclusive American Red Cross PEANUTS mystery bag with one of four special t-shirt designs. Rumor is the T-shirt is going viral and has become quite a collector's item among young people! NOTE: time has been extended in part because of current blood shortages but also to accommodate donors after work or after school. To schedule your appointment, use this link to find the drive RedCrossBlood.org or call 1/800.733.2767.
