Wednesday Night Together is back! Join us on September 17th with Seniors Faith at Four (45), Kids Choir from 5-6pm, dinner for everyone from 5:45-6:30pm, followed by worship, kids, youth, adult, and Life Groups. Our evening time together concludes by 8pm.

Every first and third Wednesday of each month, beginning September 17th from 9-10:30am, moms with kids of all ages join together to connect with one another, grow deeper in our faith, and journey through the highs and lows of parenthood. Childcare is available. 

We want to support you as parents by taking care of your kids for a few hours! Drop off at 5pm, pick up by 8pm on Friday, September 26th in Fireside Room and let us take care of the rest! Just $20/family! Dinner is supplied. 

Peggy and Mark Malbon will join us on Wednesday, September 17th for Harmony and Hymns as we explore the history and authors behind our faith's favorite hymns. Plan to stay for dinner on the Plaza!
On Wednesday, September 24th, Diana Klimek will present a movie and discussion on "Shadowlands."

Quilters meet on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month at 10am in the Round Room #4. Their next meeting is on September 22nd. 

Join us on Friday, September 19th from 6:30-8pm in the Fireside Room to sing or just to listen to Country Gospel. Acoustic instruments welcomed. Music provided. 

Join us on Thursday, September 25th at noon in Zirbel Hall for lunch as we welcome the Bridge Creek Band. You can sign up at the Senior Ministry table on the Plaza. Cost is $8.00

The Good Shepherd Stewardship Team will present two identical sessions on "Leaving a Lasting Legacy for Future Generations." These informative presentations will be held on Wednesday, October 8th during Faith at Four (45) in the Choir Room and again at the Prime Time Luncheon on Thursday, October 9th at 12 noon in Zirbel Hall. Our next Cancer Support Group at Good Shepherd will be online on MONDAY, September 15th at 7pm, via Zoom. Please note this is a change in the usual date of our meetings. All cancer patients and their caregivers, past and present, are encouraged to join our group for support and prayer. A Zoom link will be sent out before the meeting.

Those who are mourning the death of a loved one are invited to join the next session of GriefShare, a faith-based support group for understanding and healing of the grief process. This series begins on Tuesday, September 16th, from 10-12 noon in the Patio Room, and continues for 13 weeks. Visit griefshare.org for more information.

Courtesy Meals provides meals to Good Shepherd members or their families, who have recently welcomes a new child, who are ill, recovering from surgery, or any other challenging life event.
We rely on volunteers, so if you would like to make a meal for someone or need help with some meals, please contact Sue Whited at sewhited@verizon.net or call 562/924.3803.

Rising TIDE is a free afterschool program in downtown Long Beach that our church has supported for many years. Any donation received by September 14th will be matched by a member of our church (up to $5,000), matched by Friends of Rising TIDE and partially matched by "Long Beach Gives." Please write your check to Rising TIDE, and bring it to the Rising TIDE table on the plaza on the 14th for the three matches. Inner city of Long Beach kids, thanks you!

Flu Shots will be given on September 28th and October 12th between worship gatherings in Zirbel Hall. Senior shots and regular shots will be available. Home visits will be available. Contact Beth Piburn for more information. 

Long Beach Rescue Mission's 42nd Annual Leadership Prayer Breakfast will be held on September 19th. The keynote speaker will be Father Greg Boyle, the founder of Homeboy Industries. Go to lbrm.org for tickets. 

Food Finders is hosting a "Rockin Blues BBQ" fundraiser on Friday, September 19th from 5-9pm. It will be held at the Betty Reckus Cultural Center at the Greek church in Long Beach. An L.A. based band - The 44's - will be performing, and there will be plenty of food and fun under the stars. You can purchase tickets at foodfinders.org.

Serve Day for Love Our Cities is scheduled for Saturday, October 11th. Volunteers are needed for various projects. Breakfast will be served at 7:30am at Parkcrest Church. Projects are expected to run from approximately 9am to noon. These projects include wrapping gifts, baking cookies for senior lunch, and cleaning the sanctuary at Christian Outreach in Action. There's also a Food Finders project involving packing food for Food for Kids in Los Alamitos.
