Staff Appreciation Month
We will be gathering notes of Thanks and Appreciation for Staff through October. Just drop your note in the basket in the Narthex on any Sunday morning in October, or you are welcome to mail your note to Good Shepherd, and they will be distributed to the Staff. We appreciate all the gifts our Staff brings!
Rising TIDE Afterschool Program
Rising TIDE is a free afterschool program in downtown Long Beach that our church has supported for many years. Any donation received during September will be matched by a member of our church (up to $5,000) and matched by Friends of Rising TIDE. Please write your check to Rising TIDE and bring it to the Rising TIDE table on the plaza on Sunday, September 28th. Inner city Long Beach kids thank you!
Faith at Four (45)
Join us Wednesday, October 1st at 4:45pm in the Choir Room as Doug Scholten leads us in the discussion "More Difficult Sayings of Jesus." We will continue our exploration of the gospels as we find what Jesus said and taught. We will take a deeper look at some of the difficult sayings of Jesus that leave us scratching our heads and some that we find too difficult to understand. Plan to say for dinner, worship, and classes afterwards.

These informative presentations will be held on Wednesday, October 8th during Faith at Four (45) in the Choir Room and again at the Prime Time Luncheon on Thursday, October 9th at 12 noon in Zirbel Hall. Stefanie Marsden, Relationship Manager of the Texas Presbyterian Foundation, will be our featured speaker. Please RSVP to Ellie in the church office at ellie@gspc.org or 562/493.2553 x200.
