First Impressions Team - Preview Sunday, November 9th
We're building our First Impressions Team and would love for you to be part of it! Join us on Sunday, November 9th for a chance to see what it's like to serve in areas like greeting and hospitality. Plan to arrive about 30 minutes before the service you normally attend to meet the team and get a feel for how it all works. Come discover how simple - and meaningful - it can be to help others feel at home at Good Shepherd!
Congregational Meeting
The Session has called a Congregational Meeting for Sunday, November 16th at 10:15am in the Sanctuary to elect the nominees to serve as Elders and Deacons beginning in 2026.
Parents Night Out
We want to support you as parents by taking care of your kids for a few hours. Just $20 a family, no matter how many kids! Drop off at 5pm, pick up by 8pm and let us take care of the rest. The next Parents Night Out is on Friday, November 21st.
Operation Christmas Child
Time has been extended to return your Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. You can bring them to church on Sunday or by the church office Monday-Thursday, 9-4pm by November 16th. Thank you!

The Gospel of Matthew: Jesus as the Messiah promised in the Old Testament - an in-depth study of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. If you want tools to share your faith through scripture, this 26-week class is for you. Class begins on Sunday, November 16th at 6pm in the Fireside Room. Leaders: Kirk and Sue Brown, stmci@ix.netcom.com.
Cancer Support Group
There will be no Cancer Support Group Meeting for the month of November. We will next meet on Monday, December 8th via Zoom. A follow-up announcement will be provided as we get closer to December.
Handyman/Woman Opportunities
It has been suggested that some people in the Congregation may need help with small maintenance jobs around the house. If you are one of those, let us know and we will see if we can help you OR if you are able to make small repairs (this maybe a father/son or mother/daughter teaching experience) and would like to help in this manner, please contact Dudley Stone at 310/427.9631.
Food Finders
Food Finders have received a grant to help the low-income folks with food since the government won't be giving the SNAP food funds on the first of November as usual. As a result, volunteers are needed to help sort and distribute food at Admiral Kidd Park on these Saturdays: 8th, 15th, 29th - December 6th, 13th, and 20th
If you can volunteer between 8 and 11am any of those days, please let Arlene Mercer know at 562/714.1155.
