Prayer Focus for the Week

Prayers for JoAnn Wall and family on the passing of Lamar on February 20th. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, March 16th at 12:30pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Cypress.
Prayers for Pauline Willems and family on the passing of Jon on February 27th.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 21st at 1pm in the Sanctuary
with a reception to follow.

After-Worship Prayer Team

Zambia Car Wash Fundraiser

The team heading to Zambia this May is having a Car Wash Fundraiser on Saturday, March 21st from 10-Noon. We would love some extra hands helping us that morning and would love for you to come by and support the team. Please contact Pastor Janae, janae@gspc.org, to sign up to serve at this event. 

Parents Night Out - Friday, March 27th

We want to support you as parents by taking care of your kids for a few hours! Drop off at 5pm, pick up at 8pm, and let us take care of the rest! Just $20/family! Dinner is supplied. Stay tuned to hear more about our special guest for the month! Sign up at gdshp.ch/pno

Youth - Polar Plunge!

We are meeting up on Sunday, March 22nd from 6:15-8:15am at Seal Beach Pier to do a beach workout and polar plunge. Get ready for an icy morning to fire us up for our 9am worship service. 

Youth - Beach Worship Night - 6-7:30pm

During Holy Week, we are going to spend a night of worship at Seal Beach for sunset. Meet us on the north side of the pier on Tuesday, March 31st at 6pm.

Faith at Four (45) 

Join us on Wednesday, March 18th at 4:45pm in the Choir Room for Harmony and Hymns as Mark and Peggy Malbon lead us to explore the history, authors, and stories behind our faith's favorite hymns. Plan to stay for dinner together on the Plaza and classes afterwards. 

Literary Women - Book Club

Don't miss the next meeting of Literary Women's Book Club on Saturday, March 14th, in the Fireside Room. The discussion will be on "Book of Lost Names." On April 11th, the discussion will be on "Theo of Golden" by Levi. Join us at 9:30am for coffee with the book discussion following. New members are always welcome!

Prime Time Day Trip - March 29th

Join us on Palm Sunday with a moving experience to prepare our hearts for Holy Week leading up to Easter Sunday. The Living Art Experience is inspired by the life of Christ and is a unique presentation through "living" reproductions of famous works of art. This theatrical masterpiece includes life-sized paintings and sculptures, live models within the art. The program will be narrated with an original script and presented with an inspirational musical score by an orchestra and vocal ensemble. We will leave the church parking lot at 12:45pm and return around 4:45pm via coach. The program starts at 2pm. Cost: $80. 

Prime Time Day Trip - April 23rd

We're heading East to Palm Springs to the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens! Plan to join us on Thursday, April 23rd from 8am-6pm. Cost: $90. Set your alarm clocks for an early departure and join us as we experience the beauty of God's creation on this all-day adventure. We'll experience the Zoo in a whole new way, with a guided Private Safari tour beginning at 10am and giraffe feeding with our personal guide. Lunch will be on your own at the Big Horn Cafe. After lunch you will have time to explore the many gardens and exhibits before leaving at 3pm. Sign up at the Senior Ministry table on the Plaza.

Having trouble paying to get your car fixed or can't afford your property taxes? Maybe Good Shepherd can help! Contact our Benevolence Deacon, Janet McWhorter, at janrbabe@aol.com or 562/338.8982. She will send you a Benevolence Fund Application to complete. Janet will then meet with Pastor DJ to discuss your request, review the support amount, and pray for you. You will then be contacted with how we can support you. Please be assured that all communication is strictly confidential.

Stephen Ministries

Having a difficult, emotional, and/or spiritual time lately? Stephen Ministers are available to listen and pray with you as you share what is on your heart and mind during these stressful days.
