Childcare is available.

"I Surrender All," our choral anthem on Sunday, was written in 1896 by Judson W. Van DeVenter, after struggling with God on a decision between a career as an art teacher or evangelist. Later, VanDeVenter wrote, "At last, the pivotal hour of my life came and I surrendered all." His decision to become an evangelist left a legacy of more than sixty hymns, this hymn being his best known.

Wecome to Deacons' Corner - Memorial Receptions

When the time comes to honor a loved one with a memorial at Good Shepherd, we have three Deacons who are here to help with the reception following the service. These servants, along with a host of volunteers, do their best to make what can be a difficult time into a beautiful event with their families and friends. The team decorates the tables with cloths and flower arrangements, set out refreshments and cookies, and serves additional food the family provides. We are grateful for our faithful cookie makers Ann Bonyea, Shirley Masterson, and Bobbie Parkes who provide homemade, delicious cookies whenever we ask, which the families are very appreciative. If any other bakers would like to join in or are interested in helping with these receptions on the day of, please contact Wendy Ketcham (wketcham@socal.rr.com), or Kathryn St. John (kathryn.stjohn@icloud.com), your assistance would be greatly appreciated. The Deacons are happy to serve in this way and hope the families are comforted by their ministry.
