Good Shepherd - Week of May 31st, 2026

Sunday Worship
Join us this Sunday as we continue our series through the book of Jonah, a story about resisting God, wrestling with grace, and discovering that God's mercy reaches further than we expect. Come explore what happens when God refuses to give up on both the prophet and the people he was sent to at the 9 am and 10:45 am worship gatherings in person, or the livestream option directly from our website at (gspc.org).

Choir Corner
This week's choral anthem is a lovely piece entitled, "O Love That Will Not Let Me
Go." Composer Elaine Hagenberg set a poem to music, which was penned in 1862 by Scottish Minister George Matheson on the day before his sister's wedding. Years earlier, as a young man of twenty, George completely lost his eyesight. His fiance, deciding that she could not be married to a blind man, broke off their engagement. Matheson's sweet sister took him in, learning Greek and Hebrew so that she could help him study to become a successful and effective preacher. On the eve of her wedding, though delighted for his sister, Matheson felt a mixture of joy and sorrow. In this moment of bittersweetness, even despondency, Matheson wrote the comforting words, "O love that will not let me go, I rest my weary soul in Thee. I give Thee back the life I owe, that in Thine ocean depths its flow, may richer, fuller be."
Our chancel choir meets for rehearsal weekly on Thursdays at 7:00 pm. If you’d like to join us, please email or speak to Dr. Binh Vu, binh@gspc.org or talk to a choir member after the first service.
