In Our Community
We seek to proclaim and enact the good news by serving in love alongside agencies in our community:
S.H.I.P. (Self-Help Interfaith Program)
The Self-Help Interfaith Program (SHIP) is an ecumenical venture of volunteers from approximately 19 Orange County churches that provides a four month residential program designed to help guests attain permanent self-sufficiency. SHIP serves homeless individuals who are capable of obtaining permanent, full-time employment within 30 days. SHIP is an independent arm of American Family Housing, a non-proï¬t housing provider located in Midway City. SHIP itself receives no government funding and has no paid staff. There are many opportunities to serve in SHIP and you are encouraged to find a way that challenges you. GSPC has hosted SHIP Guests for the last 9 years, usually in early July. [learn more]
