New Wednesday Evening Schedule

If you were in worship last Sunday, September 13th for the kick-off to our fall series Welcome Home, you may recall a little “staff meeting” that took place right in the middle of the gathering. If you missed it, you can see it here (be sure to watch for a surprise visit from Jeb Bush!).

As we discussed, we have slightly reconfigured our Wednesday evening schedule:

  • 6pm: Middle School Dinner @ The Den (Youth Room)
  • 6:30pm: Family Worship in the Sanctuary
  • 6:45(ish): Children remain the Sanctuary, continuing our kids discipleship program FLIPT with Interim Director of Children’s Ministry, Michelle Heath, and Director of Classic Worship, Dee Abell,
Middle School Students head to The Den with Director of Student Ministry Josh Higgins,
and Small Groups meet around campus to engage sermon-based studies or video-based curriculum Boundaries in Marriage

These changes are a result the ongoing work of the Vision Team, who - alongside staff and Session - are seeking to align the ministries of Good Shepherd to work together in helping us become disciples of Jesus Christ (read more about that process here and here).

It is my hope and prayer that these shifts in alignment will allow us to further become what we already are, God’s family of faith, united as one body under the head of the church, Jesus Christ!

We continue to have opportunities to serve the children and students of Good Shepherd on Wednesday evening. While Michelle, Dee, and Josh are each gifted leaders making an impact in the family of God, they cannot do this work alone!

If you are not already serving on Wednesday evening, would you prayerfully consider joining Michelle, Dee, and Josh in ministry to the children and students of Good Shepherd?

I am convinced that as we do so we will move into the future God has for us, becoming what we already are: God’s family of faith, united as one body under our Lord, Jesus the Messiah!
