Small Group Discernment Opportunity
Dear Good Shepherd,
We will be presenting a series of small group opportunities Friday through Sunday, March 15th-17th, for you to hear more about the issues facing our denomination. These small group sessions will cover much of the same material that was presented in the two Town Hall meetings. But they will offer you the opportunity to ask questions in a small group setting.
While all Good Shepherd members are invited to attend, if you are clear on the issues, don’t feel that you need to attend. This is a parallel presentation in a small group format.
If you would like to participate in these small group gatherings please sign-up for a specific time. The minimum number of people in a group is 8 and the maximum is 12. Multiple groups will meet at each of the following days and times:
- Friday, March 15, 7pm-9pm
- Saturday, March 16, 8am-10am
- Saturday, March 16, 10am-12pm
- Saturday, March 16, 12pm-2pm
- Saturday, March 16, 2pm-4pm
- Saturday, March 16, 4pm-6pm
- Saturday, March 16, 6pm-8pm
- Sunday, March 17, 12pm-2pm
- Sunday, March 17, 2pm-4pm
- Sunday, March 17, 4pm-6pm
Conversely, you can sign up by emailing your preferred day/time to Pastor Jim at or by calling Diana Brett at 562/493.2553 x114.
After the small group weekend, the Discernment Working Party will circulate the answers to the questions that came out of the two earlier Town Hall meetings and this small group weekend. Anticipate these in April along with a ‘Resources’ section providing helpful resources for discernment that will be put on our website.
In Christ,
The Discernment Working Party
