Pastor's UpdateFebruary 22nd is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the season of Lent. This is a special time of focusing on the events of the last week of Jesus’ earthly ministry, his crucifixion, and his resurrection from the dead. Lent is a time for reflection and re-alignment. That is, not reflecting merely to remember, it is recalling in order to re-align our relationship to the Creator, our priorities, and our attitude of surrender to Jesus’ lordship. As we will see in our study of the remainder of Hebrews, followers of Jesus are called to trusting obedience to Jesus who is Lord of all, seated at the throne of God, and reigning over all things. On another note, I am looking forward to our celebration of 50 years of Good Shepherd’s ministry. The celebration event on Sunday, February 26th will be a great opportunity to look back and look ahead. Please note: This Sunday, February 12th is the last day to get tickets! Thank you for your partnership in ministry! |
