"Speak, for your Servant is Listening"

This powerful exploration of 1 Samuel 3:1-10 challenges us to examine why we sometimes struggle to recognize God's voice in our lives. The story of young Samuel being called by God in the temple reveals a profound truth: even when God speaks clearly, we can miss His voice if we don't know Him intimately enough to recognize it. Samuel heard an audible voice three times and still didn't recognize it as God speaking. The passage reminds us that God is constantly communicating through Scripture, nature, circumstances, other believers, and the gentle nudging of the Holy Spirit. The problem isn't that God has stopped speaking; the problem is that we haven't positioned ourselves close enough to Him to hear. We learn that hearing from God requires more than waiting for miraculous signs. It demands a posture of openness, a willingness to say 'Speak, for your servant is listening,' and the humility to involve trusted believers in our discernment process. The message challenges us to test what we believe God is saying through three filters: His Word, our circumstances, and the counsel of godly people around us. Most importantly, we're reminded that obedience doesn't require 100% certainty or an audible voice. It requires a heart that says, 'God, what do You want me to do?' and the courage to step forward even when the path isn't perfectly clear.
