Opportunities to Serve

Serve the Children of Vacation Bible School 2012

We are collecting these items for VBS crafts: 1/2 gallon clean milk cartons, small twigs, new popsicle/craft sticks, medium smooth pebbles, tacky glue, cloth ribbon (any color), cardboard egg cartons, flat buttons and small shells. If you would like to donate these items, please drop them off in the church office with Sue Gilmore's name on them! Thank you!

Third Annual Silent Film Fundraiser to Benefit Covenant Presbyterian After School and Music Programs

You are invited on Saturday, May 5th, 7:30pm at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 607 E. Third Street, Long Beach, to attend the silent film screening of Buster Keaton’s delightful 1928 comedy, Steamboat Bill Jr. The screening will be accompanied by live organ music provided by Robert Salisbury, former organist at the Casino Theater on Catalina Island, and learned silent film scoring from the great Gaylord Carter. Tickets are $10 per person in advance or $15 at the door. Please call Covenant to purchase/reserve tickets in advance. Ample free parking. Proceeds benefit equally the music program and Rising Tide after school program.

High Heel Dash

As part of the Rossmoor Community Festival, We Care will be holding a High Heel Dash, May 6th at 10am on Chianti Street, by Rush Park. This event is open to children age 12 and up, seniors, gentlemen, ladies, and those in costume. Participants must wear 2 inch high heels. Save Your Recycling

We continue to collect aluminum cans and plastic bottles for the Quinonez family. We have raised $1150 so far! No glass please. Drop off by the storage bins on Sunday mornings.

Help for Lydia House

Give homeless moms cheer on Mother’s Day! Please bring new toiletries, hair brushes, tooth paste & brushes, etc. and place in the first white bin on the patio in April. We will put the items in backpacks on Friday, May 4th at 11am in the Library. Want to help? Contact Sue at 562/708.7804.
